Fatal Rollover Crashes on the 710 Freeway
The 710 Freeway is a major commercial and commuter corridor in Los Angeles County and has long been recognized for its heavy traffic volumes and complex onramp and offramp designs. Areas where freeways intersect—such as the 710 and 105—are high-risk zones for loss-of-control crashes due to rapid speed shifts and merging patterns.
Data from the California Office of Traffic Safety highlights that single-vehicle rollovers, particularly at freeway onramps and offramps, are often associated with excessive speed, drowsy driving, or abrupt lane maneuvers. These crashes frequently result in fatalities due to the force of impact and vehicle instability during a rollover.
Drivers are encouraged to exercise heightened caution near interchanges, reduce speed when entering curves or ramps, and ensure they are fully alert while driving—especially during early morning hours when fatigue can impair reaction time.
