Long Beach, CA (April 28, 2025) – Six individuals were hospitalized following a violent two-vehicle collision in downtown Long Beach early Saturday morning. The crash occurred shortly before 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Long Beach Boulevard and Ocean Boulevard, directly across from the Long Beach Terrace Theater.

Preliminary findings from the Long Beach Police Department indicate that a vehicle carrying five women was traveling eastbound on Ocean Boulevard and attempted a left turn onto Long Beach Boulevard. During the maneuver, the car was struck by a second vehicle driven by a single male occupant.

The force of the impact caused significant wreckage: the gray Kia Rio sedan crashed into a traffic pole in the center median, while the black Honda Civic Sport sedan veered onto a nearby sidewalk across the street. Both vehicles sustained major damage.

Emergency crews arrived quickly to treat the injured and transported six individuals to area hospitals. One woman was reported to be in critical but stable condition, while the others suffered varying degrees of injuries. Authorities have not yet confirmed the specific identities of the passengers in each vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation as police work to determine the precise circumstances leading up to the collision.

Our thoughts are with those injured, and we hope for a full and swift recovery.
