South Los Angeles, CA (June 2, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision caused significant delays and left at least one person injured Monday morning on southbound Interstate 405 near the Bellflower Blvd on-ramp. The crash was first reported at 8:57 AM and involved several vehicles blocking the carpool and left lanes.

According to the California Highway Patrol, a silver Nissan Sentra, a white Subaru sedan, and a dark gray Toyota RAV4 were among the vehicles involved in the crash. The collision initially blocked multiple lanes, including the HOV lane, before the vehicles were moved to the right shoulder. Emergency responders treated at least one injured party at the scene and arranged for further medical evaluation.

Tow services, including multiple units from Falcon and HandL Towing, were called to assist with vehicle recovery. All lanes were reopened by mid-morning after authorities removed the damaged vehicles and cleared the roadway.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No citations or arrests have been announced, and all parties involved are cooperating with the ongoing review.

We send our best wishes to those injured in this morning’s crash and hope for their full recovery.

Southern California Highway Crashes

Crashes like Monday’s incident on I-405 near Bellflower Blvd are increasingly common in Southern California’s congested freeway system. The 405, one of the busiest routes in the country, sees high-speed traffic blending with on-ramp merging and carpool transitions—factors that often lead to multi-vehicle collisions during peak hours.

When HOV and left lanes are affected, as in this case, traffic congestion can quickly worsen, and response times for emergency vehicles may be delayed. These crashes are frequently attributed to unsafe lane changes, tailgating, or drivers failing to react to sudden slowdowns in traffic flow.

State officials continue to focus on traffic enforcement and infrastructure improvements aimed at reducing crash rates on major urban freeways. Still, driver attentiveness and maintaining safe following distances remain the most effective defenses against multi-car pileups.

For those involved in freeway crashes, prompt medical care and access to trustworthy recovery resources are essential for both physical and financial well-being.
